The Past

We are a boutique kennel, having primarily line bred over the years, using what we consider to be the best available stock. The results speak for themselves, having produced some beautiful quality dogs and bitches…
We obtained our first “show” cocker, a blue bitch “Misty” in 1977.Ch Cleemist QuickSilva

Ch Spandool Silver Sigh C.D- Sire: Royoni Rags to Riches
                          Dam: Ch Carlsvale Cest Sibon

So with Misty our journey began… She gained her Australian Champion Title and also produced several nice pups over the years, including our first home bred Champion Aus Ch. Cleemist Durras Dapper C.DJoe”. He proved to be a successful show dog and a valuable sire.
At around the same time we obtained an elegant black bitch.
Ayandbe Caprice “Cleo” - Sire: Olanza Prospector (Imp UK)
                      Dam: Ayandbe Black Bonnet

She also had some terrific wins in the show ring.
At the ripe old age of 8 & 7 years respectively we began obedience training Misty and Joe. They both gained their Companion Dog (C.D) title with ease on their first three trials. Who said you can’t teach old dogs new tricks!
During the subsequent years we maintained line breeding using the best available stock. The most important breed dogs for Cleemist over the years have been :-
 “Okey” Aus Ch Glenbiar Sunshine – Sire: Ch Glenbriar Blue Grass
                              Dam: Ch Glenbriar April Shower

We obtained “Okey” from Frank Werner & Sue McFadden.We were very fortunate to get this quality bitch as we had been waiting for some time to renew these particular lines in our breeding program. “Okey” produced among others –Ch Cleemist QuickSilva
* Aus Ch. Cleemist Quicksilva (sire Glenbriar Jolly Roger) “Fred”. He just loved the show ring and was such fun giving us some terrific wins.
* Cleemist Seaberry, (“Abby” #1) (sire A.Ch Glenbriar Huckleberry) and from whom we have further produced our current top winning girl “Bille”-Aus Ch Cleemist The One An Only. Billie is mum to our other top performing blue girl Aus Ch. Cleemist Fortune Teller, “Mac”. Our current top dog “RoveAus Ch Cleemist Mad Max is son of the legendary Aus Gr. Ch Feenix Fair Star and is grandson of Cleemist Seaberry.
These later three show dogs (Billie, Rove and Mac) are all multi in show winners and are our current show team.
We feel that by incorporating these following main sires into our breeding program over the years has bought us to where we are today :-
* A Ch. Marsden Time Traveller (used several times)
* Scolys Bicton Starmaker (imp UK)
* A Gr. Ch. Feenix Fair Star (used several times)Cleemist Seaberry
* Glenbriar Jolly Roger
* A.Ch Glenbriar Huckleberry
* And most recently our own A.Ch Cleemist Mad Max.
